cry for help or just a cry

love is learning people’s triggers and hoping they can learn yours too, so you can better accommodate their emotional needs. trauma lives in the body. i won’t fault you for your initial response. i won’t judge you for the pain you didn’t even know was living there.

i’ll be patient with you. at times when you get mad it’s like i see that inner child in you, seething. anger can also be a cry for help or just a cry. my love can be transformative, challenging at times. non-enabling which is stressful for some but it is love. my type of love.

how can you feel safe as my partner if i don’t make every part of you feel safe too. the inner child, the adolescent, emerging adult and adult. i’ll want to learn and know all of you so that i can best love you. i want to show up for all of you.
